Two slopes, two countries, one mountain range, the Pyrenees are not a frontier, but a common space where people share the same way of life.
VALLE ECHO
The villages of Fago, Ansó, Echo, Siresa, Urdués, Embún, Jasa, Aragüés del Puerto, Sinués, Esposa, Borau y Aísa form part of this corner of Jacetania. This territory is now a Natural Park and is one of the most well preserved areas of the Aragonese Pyrenees. The history, traditions, folklore and customs, the way of life and the language have been well preserved. Here you will find villages full of robust but elegant architecture, with impressive conical chimneys which smoke all year long. These are thriving villages which have maintained their individuality but which offer the visitor a warm welcome. Enjoy their restaurants serving traditional fare, visit their museums and learn more of their history, take part in sports and cultural activities and of course, join in the fiestas.
El Valle de Aspe
Forming part of Bearn, in the region of the Atlantic Pyrenees, Aspe comprises fourteen regions, in which you find villages like such as Lescun, Borce, Sarrance, Lourdios, Accous and Bedous. The villages nestle amongst a sloping landscape of evergreen fields, sprinkled with the black of slate roofs and flecked with white sheep which supply milk for the delicious local cheeses. The Aspe valley is a living museum, where you can enjoy diverse sporting and cultural activities, visit the Espace Animalier in Borce where you can be sure of seeing the elusive Pyrenean bear, or simply bask in the beauty of the natural surroundings.
